Hartlepool Socialist Labour Website

Yet again it seems that the power of the blog has done the trick in getting a candidate to produce a website for the Hartlepool by-election.

First it was Iain Wright who bowed to the power of the blog and now it is the turn of Chris Herriot of Socialist Labour.

While we were exposing the Greens for failing to give the people of Hartlepool a by-election website, we warned that the Socialist Labour Party would be our next target if they didn't get to work quickly.

Well we are happy to say that they have indeed come up with the goods and you can see their efforts for yourself at Hartlepool Socialist Labour.

Here is a flavour of what Chris has to say to the voters of Hartlepool -

"I am calling on the people of Hartlepool to put their trust in me. I am asking the working class of Hartlepool to vote for me in this by-election to give me a chance to prove myself. If elected, I will show what an impact ONE socialist MP could achieve. Tony Blair and his cronies in Westminster would not know what hit them.

A socialist could embarrass those so-called Labour MPs who still pretend to be socialist. A genuine socialist, with a background in campaigning and protest, I could provide the vocal and visible opposition to the government that is sadly lacking in parliament. After years of Hartlepool being sidelined by the Prince of Darkness, Mandelson, as he strove for self-advancement, the election of a socialist in this by-election is essential and would put Hartlepool firmly on the map.

The government would have to bend over backwards to try to pacify the voters of Hartlepool, removing the threat to the local hospital and pouring money into the constituency in an attempt to win back support at a future general election. I could achieve more for this constituency in 12 months than Mandelson delivered in his whole period of office. All I ask is that you vote for me in this by-election and then decide at the general election if I live up to my promise."

We are still waiting for the Greens to take up our challenge - so watch this blog...
